Women's Day is almost here, and to celebrate we're going to highlight some of our KS team members. In this blog, we're diving deep into the lives of our beloved KS queens, as they share fun facts about themselves, their favourite K-Beauty products, and what makes them proud to be a part of this phenomenal team. So sit back, relax, and get ready to bask in the glow of some truly fabulous women!

Hello and welcome, I'm Monica!

What sparked your interest in Korean skin care?

From a young age I was curious and interested in Korean culture and skin care. This stems from when I was introduced to the captivating world of K-dramas by a dear friend. I was hooked from the moment I watched 'You're Beautiful' and was completely enthralled with the emotional journey each drama took me on. I even got my dad addicted to K-dramas, and my mom joked that I should stop recommending shows because it was causing late-night binges in our house!

What made you start a Korean skin care company?

I am originally from the United States, and moved to The Netherlands with my Belgian husband. When my husband would travel for work, he would bring me skin care as gifts  from Korea. This was super special to me, because as most expats know, it can be lonely moving to a new country.

The gift of skin care allowed me to have that self-love moment. After a few years of traveling to Korea, there was this thought of “Is there a market in Europe for Korean skin care products?” I was happy to find out there is, and so after only a few months postpartum KS was born. 

What do you like most about KS?

I cannot express how much KS means to me. I appreciate all the kind messages we receive. Likewise, I also love being able to help with skin concerns, and getting to know our customers more. I have made some lifelong friends through the love of Korean skin care products, and I am extremely grateful to the talented staff members that have chosen to be part of this team. 

What do you like to do in your free time? 

I enjoy watching Korean drama’s and reading a ton of Webtoons. I am a big fan of collecting fun mugs and like eating anything that is mint chocolate chip. I love spending time with my family, but also enjoy taking a nice bubble bath.

Tell us about your passion!

I am passionate about marketing, which is why I am happy to be a part of the Korean Skincare’s marketing team. From social media campaigns to e-mail campaigns, I enjoy learning about the latest trends and applying them to create a deeper connection. My favorite part of working at KS is making this connection with not only my coworkers but also all Korean Skincare members. 

What do you do in your spare time?

You can find me stretching on my yoga mat or meditating in my free time. I love spending time in art museums. When I feel inspired, I sometimes take the brushes and get disconnected from the world while painting. The same thing happens while I listen to techno music.

As an Aquarius, I love my zodiac sign and all that comes with it. Whether it's exploring new things or engaging in deep conversations, I approach life with a curious and open-minded perspective.

Hi all, my name is Lori, and I’m the newest member of the KS team. 

Who is Lori?

Me in a nutshell? Energetic, creative and a real TikTok addict. I might be short, but I’m never short of energy! That’s why I just drink coffee for the aesthetics (and taste!). One second I’m running around with my notebook to brainstorm on new ideas and the other second I’m filming a new TikTok video, and always thinking about the next trending thing might be. I am very dedicated to bringing you the best content!

I’m currently really into self-care: from skincare to incorporating new healthy habits into my life. But it’s not all about that, having fun is also key! From going to festivals, following dance classes and making good memories with friends. 

Tell us about your obsessions!

My current obsession is creating new aesthetic Spotify playlists and Pinterest boards. I can literally do that all day and just enjoy being a creative girly. Talking about obsessions: dogs! Don’t walk around the city with me, because I NEED to pet every dog that passes by. But also animals in general is my thing *watches 2 hours of animal videos straight*. 

I love cooking and trying new recipes. My food might not always look picture-perfect, but it always tastes good - and hey, that’s the most important thing right? 

You can talk beauty to me all day, and in specific: Korean skin care. I’m obsessed with the everlasting glow these products give and I just can’t get enough! That’s why I’m so excited to be part of this beauty team: hello dream job!

Tell us about your roots!

I was born in Thailand and moved to The Netherlands at the age of 6. The Thailand culture is very close to my heart and I love going back for visits. I feel that my deep connection to my culture has also connected me with Asian beauty in general. 

Tell us about your experience with Korean skin care and KS!

Getting to work at KS has been such a fun experience, but also I’ve learned a lot. I enjoy finding out about new, upcoming brands and learning how certain skincare ingredients can target your skin’s concerns. This has helped me so much with finding a better personal skin routine and understanding which skincare products are most suitable for my skin type. I love seeing Korean skin care as a beauty enhancer, instead of something that completely changes your natural look.

How do you describe the perfect day for you?

My perfect day is spending time with my family and making traditional Thai dishes. I also love spending time with my friends. Speaking of friends, I am a huge fan of FRIENDS and could binge-watch a season or two anytime. Anyone else currently catching up on the new season of YOU? I’m really enjoying the different location setting and new characters in this season and can’t wait to see how things play out. Other than binge-wacthing shows I really enjoy disco bowling and on days when I feel like I need to be more active I head to the gym.
